ADP’s Advocacy for Microdata Management presented in UNESCAP Committee on Statistics Side Event (Bangkok, 17 December 2010)
The UNESCAP Committee on Statistics held its second session on 15-17 December 2010 at the UN Convention Center in Bangkok. Upon the proposal of Australia and Kazakhstan a session on modernizing statistical information systems was organized on 17 December, as a side event, to exchange information and generate discussion on the need for national statistical offices to adapt their organizational structure and business processes in response to the Internet revolution and the new needs of data users.
Tanzania NBS launches its National Data Archive
NBS launched its National Data Archive on 30 November 2010. It is accessible at: http://www.nbs.go.tz/nada3/index.php/catalog
The NBS Director General gave the welcome remarks to participants and Guest of Honour, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance Mr. Ramadhani Khijah. The Launching was well attended with the participation of key local partners (including the World Bank) and national data users.
The NBS Archive uses the most recent technology proposed by the IHSN through its version 3 of the NADA.

Mr. Francois Fonteneau, ADP Program Manager at OECD/PARIS21, was invited to present the ADP during the fourth quarter Executive Board (EB) Meeting of the Philippines’ National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) held in Pasig City.
NADA 3.0 Training, Nairobi Kenya, 18th - 21st October 2010
As part of the implementation of the PARIS21/Accelerated Data Program (ADP), a four day workshop on the installation and management of the IHSN developed National Data Archive 3.0 (NADA 3.0) application was conducted in Nairobi Kenya. The workshop took place from 18th to 21st October 2010.
First Microdata Management Toolkit Training and DDI Production Workshop for Mauritania (Nouakchott, 9-14 October 2010)
A Microdata Management Toolkit Training was held in Nouakchott, Mauritania from 9 to 14 October 2010. The training included a DDI production workshop where 10 surveys were partially documented. The participants will continue to document their respective surveys which will be validated during a quality control workshop to be held in Nouakchott in January 2011.
